What is testosterone?

Testosterone is primarily produced in the male testicles and smaller amounts by female ovaries and adrenal glands. It plays a crucial role in the development of male reproductive tissues, such as the prostate and testes, and promotes secondary sexual characteristics like muscle mass and bone density.
